ok.. now I'm going to sound really stupid... but I have no idea how to make a forum. I was planning a nice forum for my website, but I have no idea where or how to start... Can someone help?

There are different services. Some are free, such as Proboards.com and InvisionFree that gives you the free webspace and a unique subdomain to use. Or you can go Open Source and use phpBB, which Adfect uses, or some others such as ImperialBB (I recommend), SMF, or WoltLab Burning Board Lite which require your own web space, MySQL databases, and PHP systems but are free to use. Or you can step it up to the top of the line professional forums and use IPB or vBulletin which also require your own web space, MySQL databases, and PHP systems but cost quite a bit of money.

i say you start with the free ones to work out the basics then progress a little further

mm.. i'm familiar with invisionfree, in fact i made a few style sheets for invision free sites... i think i'll go with phpbb or imperialbb i've also seen a website on vbulletin but i didn't really like the style that much.
